SPICED BUTTERED NUTS
This is the recipe for the popular spiced nuts which we served for the Settle Christmas Lights Switch On today, 1st December, at Wholesome Bee. We have the spices in stock (most of) and can order in mixed nuts, at a discounted price of £8.10 for 1 KG (smaller bags of mixed nuts in stock)!
1 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp turmeric
½ tsp ground cumin
1½ tsp garam masala
¼ tsp ground chilli (optional)
large pinch ground ginger
½ tsp garlic salt (we used Herbamare)
black pepper to season
1 oz butter or marg or oil
8 oz mixed nuts
Oven 180 C or Gas 4.
Mix all spices & seasonings
Melt butter & stir in spices, turn off heat.
Add nuts & mix well.
Lay on a shallow baking tray, bake for 15 – 20 mins stirring frequently.
Cool & store in an airtight container.
